MARLBOROUGH MEWS SANCTUARY URBAN GARDEN DESIGN
PROJECT SCOPE & SCALE
£10,929.83 (Fully Itemised Quotation)
A highly textured urban transformation engineered on a strict timeline, blending premium clay pavers, extensive reclaimed sleeper architecture, and a curated tropical planting scheme.
ARCHITECTURAL HARDSCAPING
- Sub-Base Engineering: Complete site extraction followed by the installation of a 150mm MOT Type 1 hardcore sub-base, compacted to a strict 1:80 fall to master surface drainage. The layout seamlessly integrates a locking 600x450mm recessed manhole cover to maintain unbroken visual lines.
- Clay Paving: 11.8m² of Lugano Clay Pavers (204x50x60mm) meticulously laid and locked in with 20kg premium kiln-dried sand for a timeless, highly textured finish.
- Permeable Surfaces: 23m² of 12-20mm Spanish Gold Chippings installed over a heavy-duty weed membrane. The aggregate is permanently retained by professional-grade 65mm brown Core Edge flexible metal edging.
HORTICULTURE & BESPOKE FEATURES
- Bespoke Sleeper Architecture: Construction of custom built-in seating and raised planters, heavily engineered using 32 Reclaimed English Softwood Railway Sleepers (2600x250x125mm) to provide immediate architectural maturity and structural depth.
- Biological Integration: Planters enriched with 2400L of premium compost to prime the biological sub-base.
- Architectural Flora: A structural planting palette anchored by an imposing Dicksonia antarctica (Soft Tree Fern) to establish a striking, prehistoric silhouette against the urban boundaries.
