THE WALWORTH SANCTUARY SE17 URBAN COURTYARD DESIGN
PROJECT SCOPE & SCALE
£12,275.40 (Fully Itemised Dual-Phase Quotation)
A comprehensive front entrance and rear courtyard renovation, transforming a tired urban plot into a highly structured, multi-textured nocturnal retreat using contrasting luxury materials.
ARCHITECTURAL HARDSCAPING
- Dual-Zone Sub-Base Engineering: Full clearance and structural preparation across both the front and rear elevations to create perfectly level sub-bases.
- Material Contrast & Paving: Sleek Kandla Grey Porcelain tiles paired with traditional Lugano Clay Pavers to balance crisp modern lines with timeless texture. The rear architecture is further defined by the installation of precision stone coping.
- Geometric Precision: The clay pavers were meticulously laid in a 45-degree herringbone pattern, expanding into an additional tiled zone in the rear courtyard to create a seamless sense of movement within the compact footprint.
- Bespoke Boundaries: Installation of a bespoke, black powder-coated steel garden gate featuring an integrated lock system, securing the perimeter with a modern, heavy-duty aesthetic.
HORTICULTURE & BESPOKE FEATURES
- Multi-Textured Permeable Surfaces: The structural geometry is softened by a dedicated rear installation of 20mm Polar Ice Gravel to bounce ambient light into the space.
- Spatial Optimisation: Integration of discreet bin storage and 'Vert' (vertical) planting systems to free up valuable floor space.
- Nocturnal Aesthetics: High-contrast materials selected specifically to reflect ambient and moonlight, creating a dramatic sanctuary after dark.
