THE WALWORTH SANCTUARY (SE17)

NOCTURNAL SANCTUARY ENTRANCE

This project transforms a tired, cluttered urban entrance into a cinematic outdoor space. Designed by The Moonlight Garden Design Co. and built by Stuart Savage Landscaping, the scheme pairs Kandla Grey porcelain with traditional Lugano clay pavers to create a refined, textural garden that looks as striking by moonlight as it does by day.

DESIGN STRATEGY & EXECUTION

Geometric Precision: The layout utilises a 45-degree herringbone pattern in the Lugano clay pavers to create a sense of movement and direction within a compact footprint.

MATERIAL CONTRAST

The cool, sleek tones of the Kandla Grey porcelain patio are softened by the warmth of Spanish Gold gravel borders.

This project showcases The Moonlight Garden Design Co.’s and Stuart Savage Landscaping Build, expertise in transforming a cluttered urban plot into a high-end, cinematic outdoor space. By combining Kandla Grey Porcelain with traditional Lugano Clay Pavers, the design balances modern clean lines with timeless textures.

OTHER DESIGN FEATURES
Spatial Optimisation: The design includes a dedicated bin storage area and integrated "Vert" (vertical) planting zones to maximise floor space.

Nocturnal Aesthetics: As a "Nocturnal Sanctuary" specialist, I selected high-contrast materials to reflect ambient and moonlight, enhancing the garden's atmosphere after dark.

THE TRANSFORMATION
Before: The original site was dominated by cracked concrete slabs, uneven brickwork, and exposed rubble, lacking a clear functional flow.

During: Full site clearance and excavation were required to establish a level sub-base for the installation of porcelain and clay pavers.

After: A cohesive, multi-textured landscape that serves as both a functional entrance and a private retreat.
